Points for Losing is the new NHL. Lose 82 games in Overtime and get a .500 Winning Percentage? Does anyone really believe the 20011/12 Carolina Hurricanes with 33 Wins and 49 Losses should get 82 points because they lost 16 Overtime games? Or worse, have a .500 Winning Percentage?
Games Won Divided by Games Won & Lost is the true measure. Ties are now a piece of History, and have been removed in our calculations. For us A LOSS IS A LOSS and always will be, it doesn't matter how. Through 2012/13:
